Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic Floor Therapy is a treatment used to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to help in the treatment for urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. EMG (electromyographic) studies and pressure (manometric) measurements are obtained to provide information about pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. Stimulation of the pelvic floor muscles are performed to help relax and strengthen these muscles. The treatment is NOT painful. Typically, patients will have six to eight sessions to achieve success. Each treatment is approximately 30 minutes.
